Been to long since our last post, seems hard to write a travel blog when we are not traveling. We did have a travel day Saturday worthy of sharing, so enjoy the fall colors of NC between Asheville and Cherokee.

Come take a ride with us on the Virginia Creeper Trail, we took about 4 hours to do about 18 miles, we stopped often to enjoy the beauty along the way.

So glad spring is here. Alice and I had a great hike this weekend. Travel has slowed down for a while, but fun outdoors will continue. The trail head for this hike is practically across the road from where Alice’s Dad was born and lived as a little boy in what was then a remote part of Polk County NC. Just wanted to update everyone on our travels since our last post and share a few pictures. We left Wyoming the second week of September, we had almost a month with family in SC, it was great to spend time with Sara. Other highlights were Stephanie’s wedding, hiking the AT with Sunny and spending time with family. Last week we moved to the Charlotte area for the next work assignment. After arriving we visited Mike and Karen in Roanoke and then spent some time on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

We had a great time with our kids on this forth and final visit to Yellowstone this summer. This was also our third visit to the Grand Tetons this summer. Wyoming and Montana have been a lot of fun and then to have Chris and Sara come last month and now Sunny, Derrick and little Sara this month is just the icing on the cake.
Sara of course was the star of this visit, she has changed so much since we last saw her in April. Grandma got carried away taking pictures of her as you can see at the following link.

We had a great time celebrating 32 years together by spending a week in Glacier National Park. We slept in our tent in the park for 6 nights and then stayed at a wonderful B & B in Butte MT on the way home. www.toadhallmanor.com
